Lightronics First to Receive Updated DEKRA LED Performance Mark

| 08 September, 2015 | During the LED Expo 2015 event held in Den Bosch, The Netherlands, Lightronics became the first company to receive the updated version of the DEKRA LED Performance Mark. Lightronics is a supplier of innovative lighting solutions for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications.

The company received the DEKRA LED Performance Mark for its street and site luminaires. “Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is one of our core values,” comments Jos Spapens, managing director of Lightronics. “The DEKRA LED Performance Mark underlines our commitment to that philosophy and helps us to further intensify our focus on CSR, both now and in the future. DEKRA LED Performance Mark certification of our impactproof wall and ceiling luminaires is already planned for later this year.”

We recently updated the DEKRA LED Performance Mark certification procedure to better align it with the needs of manufacturers and end users alike. The quality mark provides an objective verification of the supplier’s product claims based on the following parameters:

  • Photometric parameters (e.g. luminous flux, efficacy, color temperature, CRI)

  • Electrical parameters (e.g. power factor, harmonic distortion, inrush currents)

  • Environmental factors (e.g. ambient temperature range, IP rating, IK rating)

  • Lifetime (e.g. lumen maintenance, driver lifetime)

We present our findings in the form of a datasheet which offers benefits both to manufacturers and to end users. By independently certifying that the product claims are reliable, the DEKRA LED Performance Mark removes any doubts in the customer’s mind about the validity of the performance data making it a valuable marketing and sales tool for suppliers. For end users, the DEKRA LED Performance Mark alleviates potential concerns about long-term investment. Meanwhile, for installers and project developers as well as end users, the datasheet is a useful tool for checking individual specifications such as the size of fittings. This enables municipalities or project developers to indicate their minimum requirements and thus encourage manufacturers to submit a suitable solution.
