AT4 wireless contributes in the End-to-End Testing Ecosystem for 5G

| 24 February, 2016 | AT4 wireless announces its participation in the European project TRIANGLE for the development of an End-to-End Testing Ecosystem for 5G.

The “5G Applications and Devices Benchmarking” TRIANGLE Project is an European Union (EU) funded project within the framework of the “Horizon 2020” (H2020) initiative under FIRE/FIRE+ objective devoted to Future Internet Research and Experimentation.

The focus of TRIANGLE is the development of a framework that facilitates the evaluation of the Quality of Experience (QoE) of new mobile applications, services and devices designed to operate in the future 5G mobile broadband networks.

Using its experience in various certifications programs, AT4 wireless will lead the analysis of the motivation for a certification scheme, the procedures in place and the testing coverage in the scope of ranking wireless devices and applications in 5G. AT4 wireless also provides rich features wireless performance testing tools for comparative analysis, performance benchmarking and root cause analysis. These tools will be integrated into the FIRE test beds within the TRIANGLE framework.

Why TRIANGLE?

Current FIRE testbeds are too focused on network configuration and have very complex and sophisticated configuration mechanisms, while the experimenters are not familiarized with the complex setup of the network resources and most of the time end up just using the default configuration. TRIANGLE test framework aims to ensure that the end user is not overwhelmed by the complexity of the overall testing testbed by being exposed to its full set of details

TRIANGLE intends to address the needs of three personalities within a single test framework:

  • Researcher on Protocols and Network Technologies

  • Device Manufacturers

  • App Developer

The project leader is Keysight Technologies Belgium. Other partners of TRIANGLE project are Keysight Technologies Denmark, University of Málaga, Quamotion, RedZinc and University College London.

TRIANGLE is a project partly funded by the European Union under the H2020 program.
